Take More Interesting Photos: 7 Tips on How to Do It

Most people want to take more interesting photos but aren’t really sure how to do it. Here I want to offer you a few tips on how to do it.

Shoot for Textures

Find things that are gritty, grainy, and/or textured. Fill the frame with it from different perspectives.

Shoot Yourself

You will never be lacking in subject matter as long as you are with yourself.

Shoot Your Loved Ones

I did a whole post on this topic here. There are so many reasons to encourage you to photograph your loved ones.

Shoot Strangers

Take shots of people you find interesting. This is known to many as street photography. It is also a great way to document humanity.

Shoot Black and White in High Contrast

I love the gritty feel of a high contrast black and white image. Learn to master the monochrome to make your images more interesting. This little tip can take a bland image and make it pop with some serious Wow!

Shoot the Light

As photographers, that is what we do distilled down to its most basic essence, we capture the light.

Shoot What Interests You

Just have fun and let yourself shoot what peaks your interest. After all, taking pictures should make you happy.

Don’t get caught up in all of the technical aspects in order to take more interesting photos. You don’t have to be a professional photographer to get those interesting shots. Cameras have great automatic modes these days and will help you get the shot you want faster.

Set it, forget it, and shoot it!
